It is expected Bulgaria’s budget deficit to be less in march and to reach positive values in April,, said Finance Minister Simeon Dyankov in Parliament. The Vice Premier explained the higher deficit in January and February with the mass return of VAT to businesses as well as with the covering of old dues of the previous administration. Dyankov pointed out that for the time being it is especially important to avoid pressure over the budget through additional expenses. He added that budget 2010 is a good one and that the ruling are keeping to its parameters. Minister Dyankov assured the members of parliament that if there are any additional revenues they would be coming by the end of the year. Wages in the state-run sector are as large as the budget can afford, being a restrictive one this year. The Minister further explained that a growth is currently observed of the monthly export from Bulgaria to the rest of Europe and to the world in the first two months of the year. The figure is 13.1%, which has not been occurring since August 2008. According to Simeon Dyankov these data confirm the cabinet’s forecast for emerging from the crisis by the middle of the year.
