Emergency session of Bulgarian government

A “Luxury” tax and a wage ceiling for state employees are part of the anti-crisis measures of the government. This was what Bulgarian PM Boyko Borissov announced at a press-conference after an emergency session of the government for discussing measures for budget economies. The citizens will have to pay a “Luxury” tax for certain possessions, such as cars with a horsepower over 150 and 3000 cm3, yachts, residences, spread over 250 m2 etc. The PM added that the government wouldn’t decrease the flat tax, which was 10%. Mr Borissov also said that he would give to a prosecutor contracts and annexes, worth around EUR 1 bln. that had been signed by the previous government with no money provided in the budget for them. The current fiscal reserve comes to around EUR 3.3 bln., which guarantees the stability of the currency board, the BGN currency and the state, Bulgarian PM Boyko Borisov said in conclusion.
