EC eases monitoring mechanism for Bulgaria

In its report due on Wednesday, the EC marks a number of weaknesses in the judicial reform in Bulgaria, the fight with organized crime and the anticorruption measures, says the correspondent of the BNR in Brussels Diana Chepishneva. The 5 -year report of the commission reads that Bulgaria needs more time to fulfill 17 remaining recommendations and that the next report is due at the end of 2013. Thus, the EC separates for a first time Bulgaria from Romania. Our neighbor will be assessed once again at the end of 2012.
