Volunteers clean Struma river on rafting boats  

An eco regatta under the title of “Clean Struma” was held near the town of Kresna ( Southwestern Bulgaria). The event aimеd at cleaning the waste from the beach and the waters of river Struma. Tens of volunteers on rafting boats and canoes joined the initiative and collected waste from the river. The boats were supplied by a club for extreme sports from Sofia. Struma is the only river in Bulgaria, where national and international rafting contests are held annually. This year’s initiative aims at attracting more volunteers and public institutions than ever.
