Music in Portraits – that is how the new program of the Folk Music Orchestra with the BNR, conductor Dimitar Hristov, has been named. We will listen to it on May 22 at Studio 1. A really interesting project stands behind the original title, with several magnificent folklore formations as guest soloists.
“Once again we have selected very interesting pieces,” Dimitar Hristov says. “Me and my colleagues from the orchestra want to present true music portraits of the guests at our project. I can say bravely that we have invited some of the best chamber formations in Bulgaria. The audience here and abroad knows well Eva Quartet. The four girls come from the Mystery of Bulgarian Voices. They have already released several albums and thousands of concerts. We have prepared pieces for quartet and orchestra, solo renditions, accompanied by us and also chapel singing. The arrangements have been made for the concert exclusively and those will be presented by marvelous musicians Hristina Beleva /gadulka/ and Petar Milanov /guitar/. This acoustic duo has recently released its second CD, applauded by the audience. Our friends and fans will have the chance to hear the latest guitar trio – 3G. It consists of Angel Dimitrov and Nikolay Antov – soloists of our orchestra, along with famous virtuoso Ateshkhan Huseinov. I do think that it will be a really interesting concert, devoted to the perfect chamber music and its symbiosis with orchestra art.”
The concert Music in Portraits includes new orchestra pieces, composed and arranged exclusively. We will hear as soloists some of the FMO’s soloists – Krastio Dimov, Nedyalko Nedyalkov, Kostadin Genchev, Peyo Peev, Dimitar Lavchev etc.
The audio file contains the following pieces of music:
- Staccato by shepherd flute player Nedyalko Nedyalkov - also soloist.
- Belo Aishe Zhali from the repertoire of Eva Quartet.
- Fragment from the Vutsi Mi Viyat play from the new album of Hristina Beleva and Petar Milanov
