The best option for a third bridge over the Danube, according to experts, is in the region of Nikopol and Turnu Magurele. According to a World Bank report of 2013, the facility will be a link to Corridor 4, and will help accelerate the development of the poorest EU region (which is Bulgaria’s Northwest). According to experts, the height of future bridge over the Danube should be at least 20.5 meters above the river level at high water. The facility will have at least two car lanes. The option for a railway line is also discussed.
