Chairperson of the Budget and Finance Parliamentary Committee Menda Stoyanova said Bulgaria may find itself in a situation where it will have to declare a moratorium on the debt payments which is a very bad scenario. Stoyanova made this announcement with regard to the ratification of three documents linked with bonds issuance to the tune of EUR 8 billion. She explained that the country may reach a state of moratorium, if the Parliament fails to vote the necessary bank agreement. In her words, Bulgaria can not appear on the foreign markets without such agreement, which poses a serious risk over the country’s debt payments. In 2015 Bulgaria can take EUR 3.5 billion out of all EUR 8 billion, Menda Stoyanova specified, adding that the banks under this agreement are in fact dealers which are to organize the issuing and look for the suitable investors who can offer the most favorable conditions to Bulgaria.
