After a preparation of 40 years, find raising and receiving the necessary papers, the construction of the Wall of Fame began at the Memorial complex of 31st Silistra Infantry Regiment. The unit is known in history also as the Iron Regiment. Along the Monument, built in 1985 after the design of artists Georgi Chapkanov and Emil Popov, a wall will be put up, 3.5 meters high, holding the names of more than 560 Bulgarian heroes from the Iron Regiment killed during World War Two. The Wall of Fame will also commemorate heroes from Silistra who gave their life in other military formations of the Bulgarian Army during the war.   Photo: BULFOTO
