In the period 2001-2016, the average annual income per person in a Bulgarian rose by an average of 120 euros per year or 10 euros per month to reach 2,600 euros. This is what an analysis of income in Bulgaria, made by the Institute for Market Economics (IME) and Bulgarian company Mapex shows.
In 2016 the highest incomes were seen in the capital city of Sofia - 3700 euro per person annually and the lowest were registered in Vidin, Kardzhali, Sliven, Silistra and Targovishte (under 2 thousand euro per person per year).
Overall, for the period 2001-2016 the highest growth of income was observed in the capital city of Sofia - 4.4 times.
