Easter holiday – short, but profitable for Bulgarian tourism

The first peak of tourism in Bulgaria is expected over the forthcoming Easter holidays and at the end of the winter season. Some 330,000 Bulgarians have been preparing to travel through the 4 festive days - 280,000 of those will do that within the country. Orthodox Easter is a bit earlier this year and the weather is a bit chillier. This is good for winter resorts and not so good for marine ones, as their end-April position is better, says Head of Institute for Analyses and Assessments in Tourism Roumen Draganov. At the same time the marine resorts have the chance to compensate with their better and better developed spa & wellness centers. Some 40 hotels along the Black Sea coastline will receive guests and there are profitable tourist packages. Bulgarian tourists may spend the 4 days with an average of EUR 150 per capita. Around 60,000 Romanians are expected to opt for the Northern Black Sea. ‘Those people have turned into our loyal guests over the past few years,’ says Prof. Stoyan Marinov, a member of Varna’s Tourist Chamber board.
