Bulgaria’s best athletes to participate at Sofia Ekiden Marathon 2018

The 4th edition of the Sofia Ekiden Marathon 2018 will be held on September 6 on occasion of the Unification Day. The competition is part of the initiative Sofia-European Capital of Sports. Bulgaria’s best athletes Mitko Tsenov, Ivo Balabanov and Yolo Nikolov will take part at the marathon. The European Biathlon champion Pavlina Filipova will also join the event. Teams from Japan and the neighboring Balkan countries have also showed interest in participating at the marathon. The Sofia Ekiden Marathon is a team competition. The runners complete together the classical marathon distance of 42.195 kilometers. The discipline is licensed by the International Association of Athletics Federations (IAAF).
