Two years after Hitrino drama owners of destroyed houses get new homes

The dwellings for the people in the village of Hitrino, who lost their homes after the explosion of a derailed train at the railways passing through the village, are now ready. The tragedy took place on December 10, 2016, when a train composition of gas cisterns exploded upon entering Hitrino station. The explosion destroyed 50 buildings and killed seven people. The new homes were built with the support of Social Protection Fund with the Ministry of Labor and Social Policy. Their owners will receive the keys to the new homes on November 26. The municipality’s mayor Nuridin Ismail thanked mass media for their support and their solidarity with the citizens of Hitrino and for the indepth coverage of the tragedy and all ensuing events.
