Germany's new embassy in Sofia to be completed by end of 2020

At a ceremony in the presence of the foreign ministers of Bulgaria and Germany, Ekaterina Zaharieva and Heiko Maas, the construction of the new German Embassy in Sofia started. During the ceremony, the two ministers placed a time capsule in the foundations with a message for future generations and a piece of the Berlin Wall, demolished in 1989. Before the ceremony, Ministers Zaharieva and Maas had a walk across the historic center of Sofia and visited the Serdika Metro Station. The Metro in the Bulgarian capital city is one of the examples of successful EU-funded projects.
