Majority of Bulgarians expect government to stay in power for full term in office

The majority of Bulgarians - 57% expect that the GERB government will finish its full mandate. Trend data shows that the current government, according to citizens, has no alternative. The explanation for this attitude is that the ruling party managed to win the elections for the European Parliament. Prime Minister Boyko Borissov enjoys the highest political rating of 36% support. He is followed by Deputy Prime Minister Krassimir Karakachanov with 29% support among voters. Third is BSP leader Kornelia Ninova with 24%. A large share of Bulgarians 42% believe that the parties should receive a state subsidy of 1 Bulgarian lev or about 0.50 euro per vote. At the same time, the majority of respondents are aware that lowering the subsidy would lead to deepening of party dependence on business.
