Bulgaria 9th in the EU in wooded areas

Almost 41 percent of the territory of Bulgaria is covered in woodland, Eurostat data show.

Forest land in Bulgaria has increased by 2.6 percent in the 2012-2015 period. Bulgaria is 9th in the EU in forest territories. Green spaces in Bulgaria account for 44.7 percent of the country’s territory.
