The Polish Institute together with the Embassy of the Republic of Poland and the National Military History Museum organized an exhibition entitled “Struggle and suffering. The Polish during WW2”. The exhibition opened last night, on the occasion of September 1 when the world marks the 80th anniversary since the assault of fascist Germany over Poland in 1939 – the event that triggered World War Two. The visiting exposition comes from one of the biggest museums of WW2 on the territory of Europe – that in Gdansk. It will be put on display in 80 locations across the world.  Photo: BGNES

The German-Bulgarian production “The Death of the Pelican”, shot entirely on grounds in Bulgaria in the summer of last year, opened the Horizons parallel programme of the film festival in Venice.
