Energy in the focus of Bulgaria-Russia cooperation commission sitting

Energy was one of the central talking points at the 17th sitting of the Bulgaria-Russia intergovernmental commission for economic, scientific and technological cooperation taking place at Evksinograd residence near Varna on the Black Sea.

The participants analyzed the fulfillment of the tasks set down in the 2017 road map for the extension of the gas transmission infrastructure frim the Turkey-Bulgaria to the Bulgaria-Serbia border. The project is a continuation of TurkStream and aims to transmit Russian gas across Bulgaria to Serbia and Hungary.

Another talking point was the procedure for the selection of strategic investor in the Belene NPP project. The sides stressed that it is important for the constructor and manufacturer of the equipment Rosatom to take part in the implementation of the project.
