From 07:00 to 20:00 local time today, the second round of local elections is being held in Bulgaria in places where runners for mayor’s position could not collect more than 50% of the valid votes cast in the first round.

After the mayors of 168 municipalities were elected in the first round on October 27, today a second round is held in 97 municipalities, 377 mayoralties and 31 districts in the second round. A second round takes place in 18 out of a total of 27 regional cities, including the capital city of Sofia. The runners are the two candidates who received the most votes in the first round. In three Bulgarian towns, runners in the second round will be 3, as two of them received an equal number of votes in the first round.
