Majority of Bulgarians approve this country's membership in EU and show dissatisfaction with the way democracy functions in Bulgaria

55% of the Bulgarians are not satisfied with the way democracy is functioning in Bulgaria, but meanwhile 59% of them are satisfied with the membership of their country in the EU, data of a survey initiated by the European Parliament shows. Although over half of the Bulgarians are not happy with the Democracy in Bulgaria, more than half approve the way it functions in the European Union, the survey further reads. Only 9% of the surveyed Bulgarians are Eurosceptics. 67% of the Bulgarians aged between 15 and 24 support this country’s membership in the EU. According to the Bulgarians, the EU institutions should focus on overcoming social isolation and poverty, improving the conditions for economic growth and should work for investments and for quality and access to health services.
