Christmas tree fundraiser launched

10,000 live Christmas trees are part of a Ministry of Agriculture charity campaign “Sow the seeds of hope”.

The trees are on sale in 38 different locations nationwide, in Sofia they are on sale in front of the ministry building. Five Leva from the sale of every tree, provided by the state forest enterprises will be donated to the “I want a baby” foundation to support couples with reproductive problems.

According to foundation data the number of families in need of help is around 145,000. This is the third time the fundraiser is being organized, with more than 4,000 live Christmas trees having been bought so far. In the spring of next year the trees will be planted in parks of hope.
