300 foreign students of medicine from 32 countries take oath in Pleven

300 newly-admitted foreign students of medicine from 32 countries took an oath at a solemn ceremony in Pleven (Central North Bulgaria) The ceremony was held in English at the Medical University building. Representatives of diplomatic missions of Germany and Great Britain to Sofia attended the festive ceremony. 178 of all newly-admitted students are Italian nationals. 20 students are UK citizens, 15 are nationals of Germany, 12 students are Pakistani citizens, 12 are nationals of Japan and 12 come from Turkey. There are also students from India and Greece. Students from Georgia and Lebanon join the Medical University in Pleven for the first time. In 1997 the Medical University in Pleven became the first Bulgarian university that introduced English language medicine programme for international students.
