American and German businesses to fight corruption in Bulgaria together

The board of directors of the American Chamber of Commerce in Bulgaria and the German-Bulgarian Chamber of Commerce and Industry held a joint sitting for the first time in the presence of the U.S. Ambassador to Bulgaria Herro Mustafa and Germany’s Ambassador to Sofia Christoph Eichhorn. Bulgaria is not a good example when it comes to topics such as rule of law and corruption, the President of the German-Bulgarian Chamber of Commerce and Industry Tim Kurt said. The business conditions in Bulgaria need to be on the upgrade and the reputation of this country needs to improve, the President of AmCham Olivier Marquette said. The American Chamber of Commerce in Bulgaria and the German-Bulgarian Chamber of Commerce and Industry agreed to improve concrete segments in this country’s business climate such as energy independence and energy supplies, information environment and technologies, healthcare, labor market and education.
