Changes in 3 March celebrations over coronavirus risks

The Bulgarian Red Cross has cancelled the commemorative ceremony at the Doctors’ Monument in Sofia which was supposed to take place on 28 February, pursuant to the recommendations of the National Crisis Headquarters for checking the spread of the coronavirus and the appeal to restrict the mass participation of citizens in public gatherings.

As a token of gratitude to the memory of the Russian medical ranks who lost their lives for the liberation of Bulgaria, the Bulgarian Red Cross will lay a wreath and flowers at the Doctors’ Monument.

All  indoor military events marking the national day of Bulgaria, 3 March, are also being cancelled over the coronavirus. The Museum of Military History will not be open to the public as has been the practice on this day, the brass band concert is also being cancelled.
