Bulgaria’s mountain resort Chepelare will be presented as year-round tourist destination with its trademark “The Green Heart of Bulgaria”. The resort offers wonderful conditions for climate therapy. The main idea is that tourists should benefit simultaneously from all natural resources and the clean air. The conifers in Chepelare region purify the air, which is very favourable for patients with pulmonary diseases. That is why a sanatorium was built there in the beginning of the 20th century. During WW2, German soldiers received climate therapy at this center. Chepelare Municipality has assigned experts with the task to certify the quality of air and the climate conditions. The tourism strategy of the municipality also envisages renovation of the sports base in Chepelare, which has to provide conditions for training of athletes.
