The Council of Europe Commissioner for Human Rights, Dunja Mijatovic, has presented a report on Bulgaria. Mijatovic urges the authorities to react vigorously to hate speech, including by high-ranking politicians. The report also highlights the continuous deterioration of media freedom in the country due to the lack of transparency of media ownership and funding, harassment of journalists, the use of defamation lawsuits and political influence.
