Allianz places Bulgaria’s pension system among world’s top 10

Europe’s biggest insurance company Allianz regards Bulgaria’s pension system as one of the world’s best systems, placing it at the 9th position in a ranking of 70 countries, the Global Pension Report reads. Allianz Pension Index is based on two main indicators: sustainability and adequacy. It is based on three sub-indices and takes all in all 30 parameters into account. Bulgaria receives 2.7 points in terms of sustainability of the pension system and ranks second after Indonesia under this indicator. However, Bulgaria performs much worse in terms of the adequacy of the pension system and ranks 36th.
