Entry into Greece by land at night will be possible only through Kulata – Promachonas

Starting on the evening of August 7, Greece introduces a ban on crossing all land border crossings of the country in the time period from 23.00 to 07.00, with the exception of the Kulata-Promachonas border checkpoint on the border with Bulgaria. This was announced by spokesman of the Greek government Stelios Petsas as part of the measures in connection with the rise in number of cases of coronavirus in the country, BTA reports.

60% decline in tourism since beginning of the year

Because of the pandemic, Bulgaria has seen a 60% drop in the number of international tourists since the beginning of the year, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Tourism Mariana Nikolova announced in Plovdiv. 70,000 reservations of guests from Turkey, Israel, Moldova and Belarus have been made for the Black Sea coast, but measures need to be taken for their arrival, Nikolova added. The Deputy Prime Minister criticized the current model for the development of Bulgarian tourism. We cannot present ourselves as a country with only summer and winter tourism. We have to present ourselves as a four-season, year-round destination, Minister Nikolova said.

99 establishments on Black Sea coast inspected over compliance with anti-coronavirus measures

99 restaurants and shops on the southern Black Sea coast have been inspected by officials of the Bulgarian Food Safety Agency for a month, BNR-Burgas reports. At the height of the tourist season, focus is on the measures against Covid-19. Cases of unregulated sale of fish in the road section Primorsko-Tsarevo have been established. The fine for carrying out unregistered activity varies from 1 thousand to 2 thousand euros, the Agency recalled.

Bulgaria transfers foreign tourists positive for Covid-19

If foreign tourists coming to Bulgaria give a positive result for the presence of coronavirus, they return to their country. Almost every day we organize a transfer of Romanian tourists from Greece across the Danube bridge, chief state health inspector Assoc. Prof. Angel Kunchev told BNT. According to him, the wave of Covid-19 in the Balkans has subsided, but continues to grow in Western European countries. Kunchev added that the coronavirus develops unevenly in Bulgaria. While 100 new infected people have been identified in Blagoevgrad, there are areas where none have been identified.

There were303 registered cases of Covid-19 infection in this country at 00:00 on August 6, with 5,701 PCR tests performed. In the past 24 hours, 9 people passed away, 190 have recovered and 5,139 cases remain active. The biggest number of new cases of coronavirus infection were registered in Blagoevgrad (97), Varna (54), Plovdiv (45) and Sofia (28).

Over 100 products on Bulgarian market falsely labeled as disinfectants

Manufacturers of the identified products have been warned and given 48 hours to stop offering "pseudo" disinfectants, Chief State Health Inspector Angel Kunchev said during a webinar dedicated to Covid-19. "People should buy actual disinfectants and there is information about them on the website of the Ministry of Health," he added, quoted by BTA. According to him, the packaging of the products must indicate the number of the permit of Ministry of Health for the product to be sold as a disinfectant. There have been cases among Arab and Turkish products that have been labeled without meeting the requirements for disinfectant, Kunchev added.
