Freedom, democracy and human rights are the cherished goals of European civilization. We must admit that they are far from being applied perfectly, Bulgaria’s President Rumen Radev said in a lecture to the European Public Law Organization. Sometimes Europe seems to be slow and inefficient, President Radev, who paid official visit to Greece, told the audience in Athens. Geopolitical and regional forces that are not limited by the need to adhere to these principles are faster and more efficient in the short term. However, human development is a marathon, not a sprint discipline. We will win in the long run, because we have a much stronger moral foundation based on our values, President Radev said further.
