Alexander Georgiev signs new contract with New York Rangers

Alexander Georgiev signed a new two-year contract with New York Rangers team from the National Hockey League, Associated Press announced, quoted by BTA. The goaltender who is the only Bulgaria-born hockey player in the history of NHL will receive an annual salary to the tune of USD 2,425 million.

The 24-year-old is expected to back up Igor Shesterkin next season. Georgiev went 17-14-2 with a 3.04 goals against average and .920 save percentage in 34 games last season.
