“There are no differences in the policy towards the Republic of North Macedonia between Prime Minister Boyko Borissov, Foreign Minister Ekaterina Zaharieva and myself,” said Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defence Krasimir Karakachanov for Nova TV.

“At the meeting within the Berlin process in Sofia we had useful discussions. The Macedonian colleagues realized that Bulgaria is in dead earnest. That no one can push us to change our position. The new thing here is that the colleagues from Skopje understood very clearly that we want clear guarantees of the fulfillment of the 2017 friendship agreement. Guarantees that they will not circumvent it. Whether it will be a new agreement, an annex or a protocol does not matter. We are in no hurry, there are still several days to go until a final decision is made,” Minister Karakachanov said.
