Bulgaria’s second-biggest city Plovdiv is to host the festival of Young Wine from November 13 to 15. Since its first edition in 2009, the festival allows all visitors to rediscover the beauty of the architectural and historical reserve of Plovdiv’s Old Town. Apart from getting acquainted with the history and taste qualities of Bulgarian wines from different regions of the country, visitors will have the opportunity to spend a few special hours in the company of relatives and friends and try specialties suitable for consumption with a glass in hand.

The festival will open with a Dionysian procession, accompanied by Trakia Folk Ensemble to the Old Town, where the god Dionysus opens the first barrel of young wine of the wine cellar which won a gold medal from the previous festival edition. The event is funded by the Annual Program for Tourism Development of the Municipality of Plovdiv for 2020.
