Bulgaria, Romania and Serbia are developing 3 strategic projects for the development of the Danube River valley. At a working meeting with national coordinators for the Danube Strategy, Bulgaria's Deputy Regional Minister Denitsa Nikolova said they were funded by EU cross-border programs.

With Romania, the project is for a comprehensive study of the Bulgarian and Romanian banks of the river. It aims to identify the places for the construction of new bridges, ports and ferries.

Another project is dedicated to the completion of the missing last section of the cycling route Euro Velo 6 on Bulgarian and Romanian territory.

With Serbia, the cross-border project is for the supply of modern equipment and training of specialized task forces for protection of the population from natural disasters, BTA reported.
