For the first time, the European Space Agency (ESA) supports the development in Bulgaria of university courses in space technology and its applications.

In February 2021, the implementation of the Space Education for Bulgaria (SpaceEdu4BG) project, funded by the European Space Agency under the Plan for European Cooperating States (PECS), started. University students will have the opportunity to study topics identified as key in the work of the space agency.

The courses are expected to strengthen the theoretical and practical training of young people for the space industry and to boost the attractiveness of the Faculty of Physics of Sofia University.
