European Commission: Bulgaria is third in road traffic deaths in the EU

Bulgaria is first in the EU in the percentage of reduced road deaths in 2020 compared to 2019, according to the European Commission. The mortality on the Bulgarian roads in the indicated period has decreased by 26%.
If in 2019 the rate of deaths in road accidents in Bulgaria was 90 per 1 million people, last year it became 67 per 1 million, BNR's correspondent in Brussels Angelina Piskova reported.
However, the comparison with the average indicator for the EU member states is not in favour of Bulgaria, namely 42 deaths per 1 million. Only Latvia (74 victims) and the "black leader" Romania (85 victims) are ahead of Bulgaria,  the online edition 3e-news reports.
