A working group, with the participation of representatives of expert medical councils at the Ministry of Health, leading specialists in the field of oncological and hematological diseases, representatives of patient organizations and the pharmaceutical industry, has started work on drafting a National Anti-Cancer Plan. The plan will also be in line with proven programs in other countries, especially the European Cancer Plan.
According to European statistics, 3.5 million people in the EU are diagnosed with cancer each year and there are 1.3 million deaths.The experts from the working group are expected to prepare proposals within two weeks, which will be discussed at their next meeting.
