The Bulgarian Industrial Capital Association has asked the government for a short-term measure to provide energy aid to Bulgarian business. The industry is calling for compensation for the consumed electricity in the period October 1 to March 31, 2022 totaling 35 euros per megawatt hour. The subsidy will be adequate to preserve the Bulgarian economy until the current energy price crisis is overcome, according to the association. In September, businesses pay 160 euros per megawatt hour of electricity, while the price for the population is 60 euros, Krasimir Dachev, deputy chairman of the Bulgarian Chamber of Commerce and Industry, said.

Meanwhile, Bulgargaz has called on the energy regulator to raise the price of natural gas by another 16% in October.
