The Military Medical Academy has sent one more team on a mission to Mali.
In the space of four months four specialists will be working to eliminate the consequences of terrorist acts in the region of the capital of Mali Bamako. The operation is taking place under the auspices of the EU and is one of the few remaining missions abroad the Bulgarian army is still involved in. Lieutenant Dr. Deyan Yossifov is mission commander: “Our main aim is to provide the medical services the contingent there needs. In 3-4 months’ time I hope we shall come home safe and sound and with lots of clinical experience,” Dr. Yossifov said.
98 military medical staff from Bulgaria have so far taken part in the mission since it was launched in 2013.
