Bulgaria reports almost 7,000 new cases of Covid-19 in past day

Bulgaria has registered 6,816 new daily cases of the new coronavirus out of 50,356 tests. 13.5% of the tests returned positive results, the National Coronavirus Information portal coronavirus.bg indicates. 87.5% of the newly infected persons are unvaccinated. The number of the new infections is the highest since the start of the pandemic and exceeds by nearly 1,000 the number of new infections on Tuesday.


The active patients now registered in Bulgaria currently are 87, 279. There are now 7,325 patients in hospitals, 608 of them in intensive care units. 89% of newly admitted hospital patients (or 1,107 people) are unvaccinated.


124 persons with establshed Covid-19 infection died in the past day. More than 94% of them were not vaccinated. 2,323 persons are reported cured.


On Tuesday, 26,327 vaccines were administered. There are now 1,466,012 fully immunized persons.
