If the pandemic continues at this pace in the coming days and a high plateau emerges, we may have the opportunity not to go into a lockdown, Deputy Health Minister Alexander Zlatanov told BNR.

"But if things continue to escalate with more infections, more hospitalized patients, there will inevitably be a lockdown, which is the last resort," Zlatanov added.
"We monitor things in dynamics and we will make the decision based on the data. I will not specify the exact number of people in the hospital so we would decide on lockdown, because we monitor many parameters - number of tests, vaccinations, hospital capacity. Now with the many tests performed the hidden morbidity becomes visible, " explained Zlatanov.
