A little over half of Bulgarians (54.6 %) say that Bulgaria’s winter resorts are making progress in improving the tourism facilities they are offering, indicate the results of a representative survey by the Ministry of Tourism regarding attitudes regarding the forthcoming winter season.
74% of the adult population of Bulgaria say that the winter tourism potential in the country is good, but only 12.8% state they are planning at least one tourist trip or holiday during the winter months. Almost 5% of the respondents state they intend to travel abroad, whatever the pandemic situation.
The 18 to 44 year-olds is the age group which is most active in seeking out holiday offers, accounting for 80% in this category. 37% of them have a monthly household income of 2,000-3,000 Leva (roughly 1,000-1,500 euro).
When planning their holiday 36% of the respondents say that what matters most are recommendations by family and friends, and 34% - that their choice depends on direct, personal impressions of the given location.
