A hurricane wind with a speed of 100 kilometres per hour, accompanied by hail and rain, hit the town of Sliven (central Bulgaria) and the surrounding villages within the space of 10 minutes at noon. Trees got uprooted and damaged yet there are no people injured. Several villages are left without electricity, BNR's correspondent Stoyan Radev reported.

The strong wind in Bulgaria's Burgas on the Black Sea coast temporarily closed the ports this morning, and there are signals for fallen trees and branches in many places in the city. The municipality authorities urge citizens not to go near old and big trees, BNR Burgas reported.

Nearly 50 towns and villages in the region of Smolyan are without electricity because of broken power lines due to the strong wind. Emergency crews are working to repair the damage.
