The first group of 15 Bulgarian polar explorers from the 30th anniversary Antarctic expedition are already on board a Chilean warship and in a few hours will sail to Antarctica, wrote on Facebook the head of the Bulgarian polar expedition Prof. Hristo Pimpirev.

The members of the expedition spent a ten-day quarantine in the Chilean port of Punta Arenas

After a four-day voyage through the Strait of Magellan, the Beagle Channel and the most turbulent waters on earth - the Drake Passage, Bulgaria's polar explorers will reach Livingston Island, where they will prepare the Bulgarian Antarctic base "Saint Kliment Ohridski" for the new Antarctic season.
