Bulgarian essential oils are a gold standard for quality

“Bulgaria exports rose, lavender, lemon balm, geranium and chamomile oil which hold the highest prices on the international markets. They are a gold standard for all other essential oils produced  by Bulgaria’s rivals,” Gergana Andreeva, head of the Bulgarian National Association of Essential Oils, Perfumery and Cosmetics said for BNR’s Hristo Botev channel. In her words 96.6% of the industry is export-oriented.

Hristo Nikolov from the National Association of Rose Producers pointed out that 2021 has been a difficult year because of market complications and overproduction which has been a problem in the country for 3-4 years. Despite the difficulties, however, the country has retained its leadership position.
