Bulgaria’s Finance Ministry expects annual inflation of 10.4%

Average annual inflation will hit 10.4 per cent in 2022, according to the Treasury's spring macroeconomic forecast, against an expectation of 3.1 per cent when the state budget was set.

Transport fuels will rise by 25.1%. Brent oil will average $100 a barrel. Food, services and non-energy products will see serious increases. 

Inflation of more than 12% is possible in case of further complications with the main risk being the course of the war in Ukraine.

Unemployment will remain low, but economic growth will slow to 2.6%, compared to 4.8% expected before.
