On-demand public transport minibuses are expected to be launched in Sofia in September under the project InnoAir, with Bulgaria being the first country in Europe where this innovation will be put in place.
With the help of a digital application, passengers will be able to call a minibus with a fixed departure and arrival point, but the itinerary will depend on what the passengers need, Sanya Raeva, coordinator of the Sofia Development Association explained for the BNR’s Radio Sofia. The project is funded under the European initiative Urban Innovative Actions. The minibuses will first be tested in Sofia’s southern neighbourhoods.
