Natsionalna Elektricheska Kompania (NEK) and the Kozloduy nuclear power plant will continue working on their framework agreements and public procurement contracts with Russian companies. This was what the cabinet decided after the EU allowed Bulgaria to use a derogation on this issue from the sanctions, the newspaper "24 Chasa" reports.

Nuclear energy is unlikely to be included in EU's new package of sanctions against Russia, Politico writes. The article refers to a diplomatic source in Brussels saying that Bulgaria is against these sanctions, as the country exports electricity to Greece and the Western Balkans, produced in a nuclear power plant operating with Russian technology.
