Russia hits Ukraine with wave of "kamikaze" drones

The Russian army struck Ukraine with kamikaze drones in a third wave of attacks for the day, President Volodymyr Zelensky said in his regular video address. The mayors of two Kyiv suburbs confirmed that Ukrainian forces had shot down Russian drones near the capital city. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky called on the international community to provide more air defense systems in the midst of renewed Russian airstrikes with the so-called “suicide drones”. “The world can and must stop this terror”, Volodymyr Zelenky said in a statement.

The White House said that Iran is lying when it says Iranian drones are not being used by Russia to launch attacks against Ukraine. White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre said “there is extensive proof of their use by Russia against both military and civilian targets there”, stressing that in all likelihood “Iran is considering selling still more destructive weapons to support an invasion they claim to oppose”. The United States will continue to vigorously enforce sanctions on Russian and Iranian arms trade, the White House said

A Russian fighter plane crushed into a residential building in the southern city of Yeysk after suffering engine failure. The crash ignited a massive blaze that engulfed several floors of the nine story building. A total of 13 died, including 3 children, while 19 people were injured. The two pilots managed to eject.
