The national trade unions Confederation of Labour "Podkrepa" and Confederation of Independent Trade Unions in Bulgaria, together with the party "We Continue the Change", advocated the drafting of a new budget for 2023, BTA reported. They came up with a common position, according to which a new budget will be the only way to guarantee income growth, including an increase in the minimum wage.

They convened at the National Assembly at the initiative of "We Continue the Change" party.  At the meeting, co-chairman of the party Assen Vassilev presented the party's budget proposal for 2023, which provides for an increase in the minimum wage from BGN 710 (EUR 363) to BGN 860 (EUR 440) , as well as a 50% increase in tax benefits for families with children. Some BGN 2.5 billion (EUR 1.28 bln) of additional spending in the pension system is also envisaged. The proposals of "We Continue the Change" also include a deficit of 2.1% . The co-chairman of the party former PM Kiril Petkov voiced his hopes that the first political force GERB-UDF will change its mind and support the motion to table a new budget.
