The Bulgarian Educational and Cultural Center “St. Kliment Ohridski” was established on January 8, 2002 in Washington, DC, with the aim to preserve and promote the Bulgarian language and culture in Washington D.C. area. Twenty years later, it is one of the largest Bulgarian schools in the area.
It has been a member of the Association of Bulgarian Schools Abroad since 2007. The school was licensed by the Ministry of Education and Science during the 2011-2012 school year.
Today, more than 130 children study at the Bulgarian Educational and Cultural Center “St. Kliment Ohridski”, which cooperates with many educational institutions and cultural organizations from the region.
