During her visit to Ankara, Vice President Iliana Iotova met with her Turkish counterpart Fuat Oktay. They agreed that the meeting between Presidents Rumen Radev and Recep Erdogan at the end of 2022 had given a new impetus to bilateral relations between Bulgaria and Turkey.
The agreement between Bulgargaz and Botaş under which Bulgaria is granted access to the Turkish state energy company's gas transmission infrastructure was described by Iotova and Oktay as the most immediate and direct result of the talks between the presidents. It became clear that Turkey, which is making progress in the development of hydrogen technologies, is willing to cooperate with Bulgaria in this field.
